Mission Hills Christmas Home
Tour Featuring Six Residences in Historic Mission Hills
This holiday season sneak a peek into six
fabulous Mission Hills houses decorated for Christmas for
just $20.00. You will see the elegant and festive formal
rooms of the privately-owned homes in this soon-to-be
nominated historic district on
Sunday December 7, 2008 from 12:00 PM to 5:00
PM.
Tickets (cash or check only) may be
purchased the day of the tour starting at 12:00 PM at 4204
St. James Place (located at the corner of Sunset and St.
James Place in the heart of Mission Hills). Advance tickets are not
available for this event.
At 5:15 a special tree lighting will take
place at the corner of Sunset and Witherby and is open to
the public.
Tour will include opportunity drawing,
craft and bake sale.
This event is the last in a series that
have celebrated the 100th anniversary of Mission
Hills. Tour highlights include a variety of house styles,
décor ideas and cheery holiday trimmings that are sure to
warm your spirit. Homes featured on the tour are all within
a five-block radius of each other yet feature diverse styles
such as: Craftsman, Prairie-school, Tudor, Spanish Colonial
Revival. Some homes are already historically designated and
others have yet to be researched.
The Mission Hills Historic District
Extension is the sponsor of this event. With support from
Save Our Heritage Organization, Mission Hills Heritage and
the City of San Diego these residents are been encouraged to
pursue a district nomination and are seeking funds to help
defray expenses to meet the city requirements for joining
the Mission Hills Historic District.
