Race for Little People
Saturday, August
16th, was the 17h Annual wet 'n wild "Little Race for Little
People". This year's event, hosted by the Chula Vista Yacht
Club at the California Yacht Marina in Chula Vista, was big,
wet, and wonderful. All funds raised were directly donated
to the Neo-Natal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at San Diego's
Children's Hospital.

Dr. Beam was President of the Educational
Cultural Complex from 1979 to 1984. In those early years,
Dr. Beam helped guide the growth and development of many of
the programs we have in Continuing Education today,
including ESL, Vocational Education, and the Learning
Center.

RED BULL CONTINUES
TO TAKE AIM AT “PASSING OFF”
OFFENDERS
San Diego, Calif. based nightclub Moondoggies
has been held in contempt of court for continuing to
“pass off” generic energy drinks as Red Bull® to
customers in violation of a permanent injunction that Red
Bull North America, Inc. (“Red Bull”) obtained four years
ago. “Passing off” occurs when a customer orders Red
Bull®, but receives a substitute beverage without
being notified of the substitution or given the
opportunity to accept or reject the stand-in product.
This is the second time that Red Bull has caught the bar
“passing off.”

For the second year in a row, UC San Diego Medical
Center toxicologists are reporting unusually powerful snake
bites and unusually extreme patient reactions to those
bites. Since January, several patients have suffered bites
with severe symptoms, such as difficulty breathing, often
after a bite from the Southern Pacific
Rattlesnake.
